The music of Rogues Gallery is truly a melting pot of influences - traditional jigs and reels rubbing shoulders with Glen Miller tunes, Shadows classics and even (God forbid) modern country line dancing standards (with the odd 16th Century branyl thrown in for good measure).

We take our music seriously but approach it with an eye to the past as well as the future. The roots of the music are clearly in the traditional vein but we approach the arrangements with an enthusiasm and drive that takes the sound into the 21st Century. The lifeblood of traditional music has been evolution and adaptation to the modern world at a given point in time. Traditional instruments have changed with advancing technology - the pipe and tabor of the early middle ages was augmented by the three stringed fiddle (soon to become the four stringed fiddle) followed by the European import of the accordion and melodeon.

So the past pointed to the logical shift for us to move to a fully modern line up with the lead melody being take by electric guitar. Being simple lads, if it was good enough for Hank, it's good enough for us! That said we do have guest musicians who play traditional instruments - some great arrangements have happened on the country and modern sets. That's progress for you!

So if you're holding a function and want a modern band with traditional roots give us a try (like over 200 other folks have!). Keep rocking but may the folk go on!
